Carbon fiber prepreg, short for pre-impregnated carbon fiber, is a semi-finished composite material formed by fully impregnating carbon fiber fabrics or unidirectional carbon fiber tows with specially formulated semi-cured resin (mainly epoxy resin), under strictly controlled industrial environments, with precise fiber-resin ratio and uniform glue distribution .
Different from traditional wet lay-up carbon fiber materials, carbon fiber prepreg completes resin impregnation in standardized factory production. The resin is in a B-stage semi-cured state with stable viscosity and moderate tackiness. It only needs cutting, laying and heating curing in subsequent processing, without manual gluing and mixing, which fundamentally solves the problems of uneven resin distribution and unstable product quality in traditional processes.
