Temperature Adaptability: The type of fiber selected must be based on the operating temperature. For instance, standard glass fiber is suitable for temperatures up to 260°C, high-silica glass fiber can withstand 600°C, and ceramic fiber can reach up to 1200°C.


Chemical Compatibility: If the medium contains acidic or alkaline gases, corrosion-resistant fibers (such as PTFE or PPS) should be selected; if the medium contains oil mist, fiber fabrics treated with an oil-repellent finish are required.

 

Mechanical Strength: For high-vibration environments, fibers exhibiting excellent fatigue resistance (such as carbon fiber or aramid) should be selected. Furthermore, torsional deviation must be limited to ≤1.5° and angular compensation to ≤10° to prevent fabric tearing.


Installation and Maintenance: Fiber fabric expansion joints must be secured via flanges or welded pipe connections, with coaxiality deviation maintained within ±3 mm. The integrity of the thermal insulation layer (e.g., ceramic fiber wool) should be inspected periodically; a recommended maintenance interval of once every two years helps extend the service life (typically ≥10,000 hours).
